The DC motor (usually referred to as brushless DC motor, BLDC) of the range hood is the core driving component of the range hood, and its main uses and advantages are as follows:
Main purpose
Drive the fan to operate
The core function is to drive the impeller to rotate at high speed, generate strong suction force, and suck the oil fumes, hot air, odors, etc. generated during cooking into the interior of the range hood. After being treated by a filter or separation device, they are discharged outdoors or purified.
Control wind speed and pressure
Through an electronic control system, the DC motor can infinitely adjust its speed, achieving precise control of air volume (such as high, medium, low or custom wind speed), and adapting to different cooking scenarios (such as stir frying, steaming, etc.).
Maintain a constant wind pressure
The intelligent DC motor can automatically adjust its speed according to the resistance changes of the public flue (such as high exhaust pressure during cooking peak) to maintain the best exhaust effect and prevent oil fume backflow.
Reduce noise and vibration
DC motors have a simple structure, operate smoothly, and produce less noise compared to traditional AC motors. They can maintain relative quietness even at high speeds, enhancing the kitchen experience.
The core advantages of DC motors compared to traditional AC motors
1. Wind volume and pressure
DC motor: dynamically adjustable, more powerful.
Starting is the peak: the highest speed and maximum torque can be reached at the moment of starting, and the smoke exhaust response is fast.
• Super strong exhaust pressure: capable of generating higher static pressure values (up to 1000Pa or more), with strong resistance to public flue gas, and no backflow during peak cooking periods.
AC motor: Fixed speed, limited air pressure, and significantly reduced smoke exhaust effect when there is high resistance in the public flue.
Specific Application Scenarios Reflected
Dealing with speculation
When a large amount of oil fume is detected, the motor instantly runs at high speed, reaching the maximum static pressure and air volume (such as 22m ³/min or more), quickly sucking up the oil fume.
Daily stewing
Low speed operation, quiet and energy-saving, only eliminates water vapor and weak odors.
Self cleaning function
Some high-end models control the fan’s forward and reverse rotation through a DC motor, combined with heating or steam to dissolve oil stains, achieving automatic cleaning.
Wind pressure adaptive
Automatically adjust motor power based on public flue pressure to prevent oil fume backflow (especially suitable for high-rise residential buildings).
